On the cross, Christ found the strength to address the Father with words that hold all his love for humanity: “Forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” In that supreme gesture of compassion, he looked upon those who wounded him and recognized their blindness, yet without renouncing his mission. This is the lesson that Easter 2026 teaches us: that love is the greatest force that exists.
Our humanity seems to need to live through war to understand the value of peace, to be shaken by suffering to look squarely at what it prefers not to see. We have grown accustomed to turning our eyes away from the wounds of the world, to seeking comfort in indifference. And yet we must not lose hope: behind the relentless barrage of bad news, many lights are already lighting up. There is not only suffering around us; concrete initiatives are already being born to raise collective consciousness. Groups are gathering, movements are organizing, ordinary people are accomplishing extraordinary acts, driven by a common vision. Something is stirring, and this gives us a hope that does not deny reality, but transforms it.
We too are called to this transformation: to convert despair into commitment, indifference into solidarity, the paralysis of inertia into action. Love does not come only from above, but above all from hands in service of the heart, from the union between prayer and action. It is not a distant ideal, but the concrete result of conscious choices, made day after day.
In this Easter season, let us remember that love is stronger than death, that transformation is possible when we believe in it and act accordingly. The resurrection of Christ is an invitation to begin again, to heal ourselves, to build together a better future. Happy Easter to all.
