What is the difference between Reiki, Pranotherapy, and Egyptian Essene Therapies?

Reiki and Pranotherapy, as well as Egyptian – Essene therapies, aim to restore or preserve the balance of the body, mind and consciousness from the point of vital energy, although they are very different in origin, principles of cure, and practical procedures.

Pranotherapy is based on the idea that the human body is an energy field through which the prana or vital energy flows. Disease arises from the state of energy deficiency of an organ. Thanks to the imposition of hands and their own intuition, the therapist makes their own source of prana available to remove the patient’s blocks and re-establish the energy flow in the body. The transmission of the therapist’s new prana then occurs from cell to cell.

The Egyptian Essene therapist is first and foremost an instrument between the Higher Self and the individual, and a bridge between the energy provided from the heavens, the earth and the body. The therapist helps the consciousness of the person being treated to engage the energy block at a mental and emotional level, processing and integrating it to regain balance. At the beginning of each treatment, the therapist creates a ‘sacred space’ around the person, setting aside their own individuality and judgement to become simply a channel.

The Egyptian Essene therapies take into account not only the physical body of the person, but also all their other subtle bodies: astral, mental, causal, going back to the real cause of the block to free it and reintroduce harmony in different planes.

Reiki is also based on the imposition of hands, but the therapist is able to tap into the universal energy through the process of initiation. The practitioner transmits this universal energy with the intention of healing emotional wounds, removing the blocks originating from psychic conflicts and reintroducing positive emotions to regain the body’s balance and health. For each symptom, specific positions are taught to remove the energy blocks. At a more advanced level, blocks can be also removed from a distance.

To practice the Egyptian- Essene therapies no initiation is needed. Experience has taught us that continued practice and thorough knowledge of how these therapies work infuse greater trust, confidence and awareness in the practitioner to carry out the treatments. Several therapies are taught at the basic course, but the fact of experiencing them first on oneselves, understanding the basic principles, and learning to perceive and contact the physical body, its organs and the other ‘less dense’ bodies, allows the therapist to be a real channel for the treatment itself and especially for the ‘Self’ of the person being treated.

In this way, all the physical senses become practical tools to operate what the Egyptians and later the Essenes have called ‘the surgery of the subtle bodies’. The pressure in the secondary chakras, massage with lemniscate, the laying-on of hands to make the chakras resonate and awaken the currents of life in the body, as well as the harmonization of the chakras, the use of essential oils and spagyric preparations, the use of silence, the voice, sound, breath, and the aura reading, are only some of the various means by which the Ancient Egyptian Essene therapists used to obtain the rebalancing of the body. The basic course aims to revive and rediscover these ancient and effective therapies.

What is the Akash?

The word ’Akash’ in Sanskrit means ‘ether’ or ‘space’. It is one of the five basic elements of the universe, the Void, allowing the four other elements to exist and manifest. This term defines a plane of the Cosmic Consciousness that acts as a repository, in which the memory of the planet and all its inhabitants since Creation is recorded. This archive connects us all, and contains the past, present and future of humanity.

What do we mean by ‘Art of therapy’?

The proposed program for the three year course aims to ensure that the student rediscovers the balance of their subtle bodies, reconnecting them to the energies of the heavens and the earth. Thanks to these experiences, the consciousness, the soul and the body realign to the Self, and the student is able to develop therapeutic skills and become a channel between the cure and the disharmony in themselves and in others.

The techniques and learned skills become mere instruments of service, the heart being the only channel that can help trigger the process of re-harmonization and healing of the body.

What is the origin of these therapies?

The deep wisdom that we rediscover in learning these therapeutic techniques handed down to us, related to a holistic vision of the human being, makes us assume that they have ancient origins. The fact that some fundamental concepts concerning the disease and disharmony of beings can be found, with common traits, in the various known philosophies and religions, increases this feeling. The Ancient Egyptians were their custodians.

Why are these therapies called Egyptian Essene?

These therapies has come to us from the time of Pharaoh Akhenaten, who gave a great impetus to medicine, healing and arts. A part of this knowledge was brought to Palestine by the Exodus led by Moses, where later the Essenes had contacts with the Egyptians.

What binds the Egyptians to the Essenes?

Some reliable sources consider the Essenes custodians of an ancient therapeutic science that can be traced back to that developed by the Egyptian priests at the time of Amenhotep III and Akhenaten.

The study of some Egyptian practices and the subsequent comparison with those handed down by the Essenes shows that there exists an apparent link between them:

  • the concept of the human being, formed from several bodies, one inside the other, ranging from less dense to more coarse, which is the physical body.
  • the practice of aura reading as a diagnostic tool of the health state of these subtle bodies.
  • knowledge of the chakras and nadis or currents of life, whose failure leads to an imbalance that also affects the physical body. Numerous Egyptian Essene therapeutic practices aim to restore harmony between the chakras and the fluidity of the vital current in nadis.

Who were the Essenes?

The origin of this community is unknown, and the meaning of the name is uncertain. The Essene community developed in Palestine, near the Dead Sea, and in Egypt, between the 3rd-2nd century BCE and the 1st century CE. Healers, farmers and fruit growers, the Essenes had deep knowledge of herbs, crystals and colors, with which they cured all those who required their help.

They lived a simple life on the shores of lakes and rivers, had neither slaves nor servants, and there was neither rich nor poor among them. They shared everything they owned and devoted much time to the study of medicine, astronomy and education. Their way of life enabled many of them to reach 120 years of age or more. They were strictly vegetarian, not offering sacrifices to God but thanking Him through prayers addressed to the angels to whom they were particularly devoted. From their community, teachers and healers such as Elijah, John the Baptist, John the Beloved and the Great Master Jesus emerged.

Questions about training

Is it possible to try therapy before starting the course?

It is possible to contact students of advanced courses and collaborators of Bernard Rouch who are available to let you try these therapies.

Many students in the basic courses have discovered the Egyptian Essene therapies by first being treated and experiencing their effectiveness.

For information about contact names, contact us

I would like to attend the training but at this time I have financial problems…

The economic burden is not an obstacle when the commitment is sincere. We can always find solutions.

Is a specific knowledge required for those who start the course?

Everyone can participate to these courses, no matter their initial training or skills.

The course is essentially practical. Direct contact with concepts such as energy and chakras allows each individual to understand and to experiment those concepts directly on themselves, beyond the theories and dogmas.

Are you required to have special talents to follow the training?

Years of experience have made us understand that it is not so much the qualities that one possesses as the desire to learn and discover that make a difference. Openness to new experiences and perseverance are the two qualities that allow the student to make real progress.

Is it useful to have knowledge of anatomy and medicine?

It is useful but not essential. Training will combine both theoretical and practical knowledge. Students will learn, for example, to perceive the kidneys or the liver to decipher the state of health of these organs in a subtle way.

During the course, those who have not any knowledge of anatomy or medicine will be provided with a basic anatomical knowledge, necessary for the practice of the various therapies. Obviously what is learnt will be an interesting starting point for further individual study and personal insights.

Why does the course last three years?

Three years is an appropriate time to develop the fundamental topics for the practice of these therapies, and it is especially necessary to integrate what each student has learned and experienced during the meetings.

Questions about aura reading

What are the benefits of aura reading?

The body emits various types of energy radiation, called auras, that communicate different information according to their essence. Aura reading was, and still is, a great tool that gives the ability to diagnose the state of health and harmony of the subtle bodies in relation to the physical body.

Will I be able to see auras?

Since aura reading is not a technique, the capability to read occurs in different ways and at different times, depending on the student. It is a way of looking, combined with perseverance and practice.

Does aura reading allows us to see the past lives of an individual?

Learning to see auras allows one to see all sorts of things in the person who opens themselves up to be read, even their past lives. Experience has taught that the reader can see in the individual only what their soul is ready to show. Each person is free to open up and show what is most helpful to their growth.

What are the levels of the aura?

Aura reading consists of trying to see the different energy fields that emanate from the body of the person who is being read.

This allows us to read:

  • The Etheric aura, less thick and closer to the human body, follows the outline of the physical body and corresponds to the vital energy of a being, to their vitality.
  • The Astral aura, slightly larger and longer than the physical body, is related to emotions (wishes, fears and passions).
  • The Mental Aura, which encompasses the previous auras with a larger extension, is where thoughts form and mental processes take place.
  • The Causal aura, even more extended than the previous ones. By reading this aura, one can discover the origin of certain diseases that have roots in past lives or in the gestation period in the mother’s womb. It connects us to the world of causes.

How to see auras?

Learning to read the aura means being able to allow the various chapters of the ‘book of life’ of a person to come to us delicately, understandingly and non-judgmentally. The chapters can appear in the form of colors, images, feelings, or symbols. Only experience acquired through long practice allows us to grasp the meaning.

The ability to read auras means gaining access to a world of colors, shades and brilliance of incomparable beauty. It allows the therapist to be able to give an explanation or help the person who is being read, identify the difficulties and diseases even in pregnancy. Aura reading is a valuable tool for therapists and for those who want to help others. The practice of reception that you learn to develop implies an inner transparency. That is why learning how to read auras is a process inseparable from a work of inner growth. Each color image is a clue that comes to us, through which we can obtain a more precise image of the person that stands before us.

Accepting a view that considers the physical human body and its subtle bodies as a whole and indivisible oneness allows us to live a more intense and authentic life,  welcoming all the parties (divine, human and animal) that are in us, enjoying our own uniqueness and that of others, and regaining the freedom to be ourselves. This inner freedom can be gradually experienced by becoming aware of the ‘sacredness’ that permeates every moment of our life. Sometimes, knowing a little more of the unknown, of the denied, allows the body itself to relax and live through those inevitable states of mind such as suffering, pain and discomfort with greater serenity. This is because we understand that everything is part of the evolution of the soul.

We create our own obstacles, and they exist as long as we allow ourselves to see them as such. The answers and solutions depend on the outlook with which we perceive and measure the world. If we focus on the fire of the heart, there are no more obstacles.

Growing means finding the right balance between soul and body, processing the answers to the problems that life offers us and dropping the automatisms that influence us. In this state of mind there are no obstacles, and we have the feeling of having burned all of the obstacles and their illusory reality with the fire of the heart.

Every experience is worth living, and learning to re-educate our outlook to observe without judgment, but with sincere tenderness and some humor, can help us make every event of our life a real source of enrichment and growth.

Questions about treatments

What are these therapies meant for?

The Egyptian Essene therapies are used as a support to disease, existential distress, physical, psychological and mental suffering. They act on the disharmony between body and soul and reconnect the individual to the energies of the heavens and the earth, promoting in the body a new balance.

What can we do to help others?

If we look at the definition of the word ‘help’ in the dictionary, we read: ‘to facilitate the completion of an action’ or ‘to encourage the execution of an action performed by someone’. Help, according to these definitions, is used as a bridge to allow someone (or oneself) to move from a state of being or situation to another, which is generally more promising or beneficial. It is therefore the removal of the ‘I’, the ego, to serve a greater cause or simply someone else’s cause. To help others and serve as part of one’s personal inner growth, we need to go further, to stimulate and touch the soul deeply. How to help others to feel better?

During his inauguration as President of South Africa in 1994, Nelson Mandela cited this text by Marianne Williamson:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? “Actually, who are you NOT to be? We are children of God, our ‘playing small’ does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people themselves do not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. Not just in some of us: it is in all of us. As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others”.

It is through help that our inner light as well as other people’s light reveals even more.

Help, and above all, help yourself. That is to say, do the best to learn from the experiences that you have, to grow, to mature, become richer and more balanced. This means creating more light or fluidity in a situation that will serve as a springboard, allowing us to overcome a negative state of being, a block, or an aspect of ourselves that we consider less bright and harmonious. ”

To reach a transcendental state, we should get in touch with a part of ourself that is beyond the limited consciousness that we have during the experiment we live in. We should have a broader view, and a deeper target. How to contact the part that is not affected by daily emotions, the part that loves us and sees beyond? Different traditions proposes different methods for obtaining calm and silence within ourselves. Apart from any technique, the process is simple: we have to let our heart flow. If we let our heart speak spontaneously, without letting our mind pose questions like: ‘Is this good?’, ‘Should I?’ etc., or give in to emotions like sadness or bitterness, then we will leave more freedom and more space in our inner life, more joy and happiness, but also humanity.

There are times when we do not know how to respond to a request. Giving the person our attention will certainly help them feel that their existence is not worthless. They will feel less alone and less separated, while this will give them a little more warmth and light, helping them return to a sense of inner and outer unity.

What steps can we take to help?

We should try to find a balance that allows us to avoid situations of extreme pain or lack of clarity.

Helping is synonymous with trying to establish a quality of life and being, which brings us fluidity, pleasure, joy, and a sense of unity. This occurs when we listen to our needs and our body, and learn to recognise our limitations and possibilities, our strengths and weaknesses. It is to grant ourselves certain moments, periods of suspension to feel what the next best move may be.

By creating greater fluidity within ourselves we move more freely, again becoming like a boat flowing with a river’s current. We achieve stability, balance, strength and wisdom, and get ready to face the ‘big water’.

By creating clarity in ourselves we are able to accompany those who come to us by our example, not through a mere intellectual process, but with actions that expresse objectivity, confidence, balance and strength, which then allow us to be more understanding and compassionate.

More than allowing ourselves to grow, helping others enables us to begin a procedure which can be described as our concrete individual action, represented by a small wheel, engaging a bigger wheel, which can be defined as the cosmic energy that includes all of us, in a mechanical process.

Are these therapies also useful in case of serious illness?

The range of Egyptian Essene therapies includes a number of treatments that can support and help people who live with diseases such as diabetes, cancer, multiple sclerosis, AIDS, allergies, food intolerances, hypertension, depression, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s etc. The understanding of the causes that led the individual to the disease helps bring harmony and balance between body and soul.

It is evident that these interventions DO NOT in any way substitute the classic medical treatments, but are complementary to them.

What distinguishes these therapies compared to other disciplines?

The Egyptian Essene therapies are energy therapies that allow us to accompany the individual in finding a balance of all the many parts of their being, promote a profound inner process, and produce greater harmony between the different energy bodies (etheric, emotional and mental). They allow us to raise some veils that are a cause of illness and go back to the individual’s roots, promoting a better alignment between body, soul and spirit.

The attitude of the therapist is based on the opening of their heart, becoming a channel of heavenly and earthly energies to accompany and assist the person in his healing process. These therapies were taught and practiced by the priests of ancient Egypt thousands of years ago, and later the Essenes used a part of this therapeutic science that has now been reactivated. The therapies are structured and organized in a precise way, depending on the cure that is being administered.

The therapies take care of a body’s many energy centers (chakras), its sub-chakras and energy circuits (nadis), but also take into consideration the energetic ‘subtle’ bodies. They make use of the subtle senses (touch, but also sight, taste, smell and hearing), combining light and sound according to the therapist’s feeling. Finally, the Egyptian Essene therapies comprise aura reading, allowing the person to go beyond the visible, and to know a little more of the near or distant past. In this way, we can trace the origin of the wounds that have generated the behaviour and thoughts that induce the disease in a person. The aura reading thus pacifies and reconciles all parts of the human being.

How to become a therapist?

The main feature that our ancestors, the Egyptians and the Essenes, handed down to us regarding the practice of this ancient therapeutic science is the rediscovery of the art of being therapists. Everyone is an incredibly unique being. Their sensations and perceptions cannot be considered the same as someone else’s, even if there can be some outward similarities. It serves no purpose to become a photocopy of someone else. It can be useful, instead, to increase and amplify one’s own perceptions of the subtle worlds.

Conducting one’s own consciousness to rediscover the concept of integrity between body and soul in a tangible way can give a new equilibrium to the being, and above all a solid foundation to create a healthy helping relationship between the therapist and the person who decides to be treated. In the practice of Egyptian – Essene therapies it was and it is extremely important to pay special attention to this relationship. People seeking help to resolve a problem, to escape from a state of difficulty, from existential distress, or from physical discomfort, are normally in a state of need, which corresponds to a feeling of being weak, abandoned and helpless.

First of all, the ancient Egyptians taught to give back dignity to the person in such a way that they could re-contact all their inner resources needed to heal themselves. Rediscovering the therapist within ourselves consists of profoundly understanding that we are not healers, but the experience gained over the years allows us to become a bridge between the human and the divine, between the treatment and the disease. The therapeutic act is an art, an act of love that is built together with the patient.
